This type of press has been especially developed for the production of expanded metal articles. Special attention is paid through customised solutions to addressing the requirements on an expanded metal press such as the need to ensure minimal sagging of the press frame or play between the cutter and the eccentric shaft.

Thus for example the press frame has been heavily reinforce and the eccentric shaft and the cutter slide are mounted on prestressed ball and roller bearings respectively. Together with the very highly prestressed ram compensation this guarantees that the upper blade always penetrates to exactly the same depth and hence ensures a precise mesh gauge.

In addition the lower blade can be prestressed via wedges so that the lower blade follows a perfectly straight line under load. The feed rollers (mesh web) and the upper blade (mesh width) are positioned by means of digital servo motors. The ram height (mesh depth) can optionally also be set via digital servo motors.
